Bookcitement // ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES IN MAGICAL AUGUST

August 01, 2017

Back at it again with this pictureeeeee
Hello lovely people of the internet!

Welcome to yet another Bookcitement post! If you're new... Bookcitement is a series of posts on my blog where I talk about upcoming releases that I (as well as y'all) should get hyped for. Bookcitement is kind of like a WoW but for the entire month :)
This month's new releases are all so different from each other so I'm excited to see what they each bring to the table!

With that being said... let's get into it!
(But first I need to quickly mention how fast time is flying by or else this wouldn't be a proper Bookcitement post :p)

Side note: All of the book titles will contain a link to their Goodreads pages.

I think this is the most books I've ever had in a Bookcitement post!

Blight by: Alexandra Duncan

Blight is a... dystopian? Yes, dystopian novel. But it revolves around a farm. Dystopian's generally have very little shock-factor nowadays but, who knows, maybe this book will help revive the genre *eyebrow waggle*

The Secret History of Us by: Jessi Kirby

Like many of these books, I hadn't heard of this one before researching new releases. However, I'm always on board for a good (creepy?) story about memory loss and trying to recover your past.

When I am Through with You by: Stephanie Kuehn

I am heavily intrigued by this book. The synopsis tells you very little (my favorite!) and all we know is that our mc is in jail because of something that happened on a mountain...? I'm veryyy excited to see what happens in this one.

Sparks of Light by: Janet B. Taylor

Sparks of Light is the sequel to Into the Dim by: Janet B. Taylor. The series is pitched as a "YA Outlander" and I immensely enjoyed book one. Thus, I am jumping around in anticipation of book two! (By the way I really recommend you go check out the series if you haven't!)

Shimmer and Burn by: Mary Taranta

War, the plague, magic, OH MY! No, but really, though, this books sounds A M A Z I N G. Bonus: the book is part of a fantasy DUOLOGY. (Which I guess could either be a great thing or a terrible thing haha. Let's hope it's the former.)

Little and Lion by: Brandy Colbert

I discovered this one because of twitter and I am super excited for it! Bipolar rep AND some possibly positive family dynamics? I. AM. IN.

The Hearts we Sold by: Emily Lloyd-Jones

I've seen some really positive reviews for this one! It deals with a girl who gives her heart to a demon so she can acquire money for an education (I believe!) It sounds like a good book to read in one sitting on a rainy day ♥

A Map for Wrecked Girls by: Jessica Taylor

This one has been all over Bookstagram and I may or may not be in love with the cover... I'm curious about the sister dynamic in this one. (The synopsis actually kind of reminds me of Genuine Fraud. Just because of the "following someone mindlessly" thing.)

Wicked Like a Wildfire by: Lana Popovic

I can't believe I only just discovered this one! It follows an mc (or mc's?) who have the ability to manipulate beauty. Plus... you know I'm a sucker for pretty covers xD

The Art of Feeling by: Laura Tims

I am not generally a contemporary girl but I've heard a lot of people say this one is cute! If you like Jennifer Niven's All the Bright Places then I really recommend you check this one out! (It gets bonus points for the doggo on the cover :p)

Crystal Blade by: Kathryn Purdie

Calling all Burning Glass readers! The sequel is coming out super soon (whoop! whoop!) I haven't personally started the series but Kathryn is a lovely human and the covers are SO. PRETTY.

The Rattled Bones by: S.M. Parker

I read S.M. Parker's other book, The Girl Who Fell, and I enjoyed it! Soooo I'm excited to see how The Rattled Bones compares. The book is set on a "mysterious island" and there's ghosts *eyebrow waggle intensifies*

The Arsonist by: Stephanie Oakes

Stephanie Oakes also wrote The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly which has F A N T A S T I C ratings. The Arsonist is a mystery that spans decades w/ multiple POVs. I AM HYPE.

Wonder Woman: Warbringer by: Leigh Bardugo

I haven't read a Leigh Bardugo book yet *hides*. Buuut I love Wonder Woman so this may be my first Bardugo book!

Thirteen Rising by: Romina Russell

This is the fourth book in the Zodiac series (which I also have not read yet). I love the covers for this series and the premise of these books is so unique!

The Dazzling Heights by: Katherine McGee

This is the sequel to The Thousandth Floor by: Katherine McGee. Once again, I love the covers for these books ♥

Which August releases are you excited for?
Thank you so much for reading and have a wonderful day!
